The Crayon Set (Free Self-Titled EP)

The Crayon Set originally formed in 2008 in Dublin Ireland. They play
catchy, upbeat indie pop/rock with some folk and chamber elements thrown
in for the hell of it. They specialise in multi-part harmonies and use a
wide palette of instruments including oboe, double bass, banjo,
wurlitzer, violin, cavaquinho, trumpet and flute.

I love the driving earnestness, underlying joy and shimmering hooks of this new EP by The Crayon Set! The whole shebang is going to be grand. They could play and sing about the phone book and make it sparkle.  castleqwayr

They have just recorded their debut album in Leeders Farm Studios in the
UK and it will be released in spring 2012. Ray McGinley from Teenage
Fanclub guests on guitar and it was co-produced by Nick Brine who has
worked with artists including The Beta Band, Ash, Teenage Fanclub and
Super Furry Animals.
