Emmylou Harris: ‘Hard Bargain’ Listen & Review
There is something real and heartbreaking in many of Ms. Harris’ songs. They dig deep beneath the skin, both of their own, and the listeners volition. They are missives of love and longing that break open the thin shell surrounding my heart. My favorite album was easily ‘Red Dirt Girl’ in all its epic alt-country glory and drama. This 21st offering is a good find and a worthy listen; consistent and again, strongly reflective with a similar tone and cadence. My friend Bill Mallonee of ‘Vigilantes of Love‘ fame, enjoyed the background vocal talents of this artist on the song Resplendent from his ‘Audible Sigh‘ album. Another heart-breaking song by an Americana talent.
