Greg Sczebel – Free CD: Causin’ A Commotion (Love & the lack thereof)
I agree with the talent quotient mentioned in the press material below. There is a feel of Ole’ time Rock n’ Roll with a bit of the blues and tasteful jazzy undertones. There is a generous helping of blue-eyed soul harking back to that 60’s Motown sound. All of this brings me back in memory to Charlie Peacock, Paul Simon and David Bowie’s Young Americans LP. A note of caution: this is more untamed, rootsy and original than the aforementioned megastars. Is that a slide guitar on the title track? Not sure, but it all tastes good to this set of ears!
Hey, check out the contest below to receive a FREE CD from Greg!
Greg Sczebel – Causin’ A Commotion MP3
Charlie Peacock – Dear Friend (His new material is more jazzy)
Greg Sczebel is super talented, and equally underrated! He chooses to remain unsigned because he is a true artist and songwriter, and did not want to leave his hometown just outside of Vancouver, BC, Canada, in order to make it big. Over the last few years he’s had a lot of success winning the grand prize in the John Lennon Song Writing Contest twice – and a Juno Award (Canada’s Grammys).
This summer Greg will be driving to one lucky fan’s house (anywhere in North America), playing a private concert and leaving them the keys to his 2009 Nissan Cube. That’s right he’s giving away his car. The contest closes at the end of June. Your readers can earn a free ballot just by signing up at www.WinGregsCar.com and there they can find loads more ways to earn ballots.
For those readers and listeners who enjoy Greg’s music, Greg Sczebel and Heroes of Indie Music is offering to TWO winners an autographed CD of “Love & the lack thereof.” Just comment on this blog post and you will be entered into the contest which will run through Wednesday June 30. Don’t Wait!
Greg was the opening performer at the GMA awards last night in Calgary and he picked up 4 awards including fans choice – I can see why! He sat beside us when he wasn’t on stage – he’s a real down to earth guy. Tonight he led worship back at FAC in Calgary. It was nice to get to hear/see him perform many of his other songs.
I pray that God will continue to enable Greg to reach the lost. That he would listen to the guidance of our Heavenly Father.
I gotta say, it’s sure fun to do some funky dancing with my pre-teen daughters when we listen to his music! Keep letting it out Greg!
Love the Causin a Commotion song… you can’t stay sitting! Saw Greg the first time with Paul Brandt… love the style!
