One Wolf II – Predator Free (Secret of the Wolf)

After parting ways with his old band, Lubbock, Texas musical mainstay Daniel Markham started One Wolf.  Influenced by bands that range from Tears for Fears and New Order to Hank Williams and Whiskeytown, Markham decided to create something that fell somewhere between those two extremes – and out of that idea grew One Wolf.  One Wolf’s solo songs range from spaghetti western to sci-fi explosion, helped by producer Jason Martin (Starflyer 59), who brought One Wolf’s original sound full circle.

What they’re saying about One Wolf…

“Lubbock’s One Wolf makes razor-sharp jangle-pop nuggets using the best parts of Wilco and the parts of the Shins we don’t utterly detest. With Jon Brion-nicking tracks like “Haunted” and “Down And Out,” One Wolf could easily be Texas’ answer to Death Cab For Cutie circa We Have The Facts And We Are Voting Yes.”
-Houston Press

“Simple acoustic-driven laid back cool rock”
-Doug Van Pelt, HM Magazine
“These days the term “pop” usually hold a negative connotation but think of One Wolf as the pop sound of the Indie culture. Daniel Markham possesses songwriting skills and vocals that could appeal to both the mainstream market and the Indie underground music culture which is why there lays no negativity behind it here. The guy’s creative and he’s got mass appeal.”
