Her intriguing lyrics, her accomplished vocals and her eagerness to evolve have made her music consistently intelligent and compelling
With the release of The Indescribable Wow, Phillips crossed into secular alt-rock territory with the help of producer T. Bone Burnett and close friend Elvis Costello. Eight successful albums later, Phillips still has critics lavishing her with praise. Her latest full-length, Don’t Do Anything, follows the spare acoustic leanings of her last few releases and reaffirms her well-earned reputation as a gifted and engaging lyricist.
Philips’ most recent project is The Long Play, a year-long subscription program that sends subscribers approximately five EPs’ worth of new songs over the course of a year. Here, she
